Overview

The area around 4-chome in Minami-Nijima, Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu City, is one of the most important bases supporting Japanese industry. This area is home to the factories of Tokai Carbon, a comprehensive carbon product manufacturer, and Mitsubishi Chemical, a major chemical manufacturer, supporting Japanese manufacturing. These factory groups are overwhelming in their enormous scale during the day, while at night they are lit up to create a fantastic night view. One of the attractions is that you can catch a glimpse of the internal structure of the factory and the arrangement of machinery that you would not normally see. It is a valuable spot where you can feel Japanese industry firsthand.
