Wakayama Marina City is a comprehensive leisure complex situated on an artificial island in Wakayama Prefecture. This area is home to a variety of unique facilities, including the Mediterranean-themed amusement park 'Porto Europa,' the 'Kuroshio Market' famous for its fresh seafood and tuna carving shows, and the relaxing 'Kishu Kuroshio Onsen' hot springs. The greatest charm of this destination is the ability to enjoy leisure, gourmet dining, and relaxation all at once within a refreshing, open environment surrounded by the sea.
The development of Wakayama Marina City has progressed through the phased construction of facilities aimed at tourism and leisure on this artificial island. Porto Europa, the centerpiece theme park, recreates the atmosphere of Mediterranean coastal towns in France, Italy, and Spain, making it a unique spot where visitors can feel the essence of Europe while staying in Japan. Additionally, the Kuroshio Market preserves the rich culinary culture of Wakayama, utilizing the bounties of the local sea.

There are many diverse spots to keep visitors entertained. At Porto Europa, you can enjoy various attractions set against a beautiful European-style backdrop. At Kuroshio Market, you can witness high-energy events like the tuna carving show while enjoying incredibly fresh seafood. For relaxation, the Kishu Kuroshio Onsen offers a chance to soothe your travel fatigue with a soak near the ocean. Other facilities such as the fishing park and Dolphin Park also allow visitors to connect closely with nature.
Wakayama Marina City offers different ways to enjoy the area throughout the year. It is important to plan your visit based on seasonal events and the specific operating hours of each facility. For instance, Porto Europa sometimes hosts a special nighttime operation called 'Festa Luce,' which requires a specific admission fee for the evening period (17:00–21:00). Since operating hours vary by facility, we highly recommend checking the official website calendars before your visit.

From active adventures to tranquil relaxation, this area provides a wide range of activities. You can experience the thrill of theme park attractions, indulge in gourmet seafood at Kuroshio Market, try your hand at fishing in the fishing park, or unwind in the hot springs. The area is also pet-friendly; you can enter Porto Europa with your pet (subject to certain restrictions), making it a great destination for animal lovers.
Wakayama Marina City is located near several other scenic spots. You can easily visit the nearby Wakaura area by car or bus to enjoy the beautiful coastal views. For those wishing to stay longer, the Wakayama Marina City Hotel is located right next to the facilities, making it an ideal spot for an extended vacation.

Note that the automatic ticket machines at Porto Europa only accept cash. However, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) can be used at the East/West ticket booths, Kuroshio Market, Kishu Kuroshiro Onsen, and the Wakayama Marina City Hotel. Electronic money (such as QUICPay, nanaco, iD, and WAON) is also accepted at Kuroshio Market.
English signage is available throughout the facilities, and English support may be available at certain locations. Please check on-site for details.
While advanced reservations are generally not required, checking the schedule for specific events is recommended for a smoother experience. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes as there is a lot of walking involved. If bringing a pet, please ensure they are on a leash and managed responsibly.
Please follow the specific photography rules of each facility. For smoking, please use only the designated smoking areas to maintain a pleasant environment for all guests.
