The 29th temple of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, founded by the monk Gyoki by imperial decree of Emperor Shomu.
Tosa Kokubunji is a temple of the Shingon Shuchei school located in Nankoku City, Kochi Prefecture. It is widely known as the 29th station of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and is also referred to as Manizan Hozoin.
