The facility features an alpine plant garden that showcases different seasonal beauty. The garden, located within walking distance of the Panorama Station, allows visitors to observe unique high-altitude vegetation up close. For dining, restaurants like the 'Cloud Above' cafe and 'Edelweiss' allow you to enjoy local ingredients while gazing at the panoramic mountain views. For those seeking adventure, the site offers thrilling attractions such as the Zipline Adventure, Summer Bob Sleigh, and Mountain Go-Karts, making it a perfect spot for active exploration.
The best time to visit is during the summer season (late May to November) when the alpine plants and lush greenery are most vibrant. From late May through June, the colors of the botanical garden are particularly striking. The ropeway typically operates from 8:40 AM to 4:40 PM. We recommend arriving in the morning to enjoy the crisp, clear mountain air. Please note that the facility undergoes maintenance-related closures from late November to April, so it is essential to check the operating status before your trip.
Beyond simple strolls, visitors can engage in high-energy activities. The Zipline Adventure offers a sensation of flying through the air (advance reservations are highly recommended during peak seasons). The Summer Bob Sleigh 706 and Mountain Go-Karts are also highly popular, offering a sense of speed that utilizes the natural terrain. These activities are excellent for families with children and groups of friends looking for an active outdoor experience.
Access to the facility is excellent, located just an 8-minute walk from JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The surrounding area is rich with local culture; you can find shops selling famous Niigata sweets and local sake, making it a great place for souvenir shopping. Near the base ropeway station, there are also sections dedicated to outdoor gear, allowing you to prepare for your mountain adventures.
Because the summit is at a high altitude, temperatures are significantly lower than at the base. Please prepare appropriate clothing, such as a light jacket even in summer. Comfortable walking shoes are essential as you will be navigating natural paths. Regarding payment, major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) and electronic money (QUICPay, etc.) are widely accepted, but we recommend carrying some cash for certain facilities or vending machines. Please note that private vehicles are not allowed in the high-altitude areas; you must park your car at the base station and use the ropeway to reach the summit.
