Visiting Tips

Hote Matsuri is a highly popular event, and surrounding roads and stations will be extremely crowded on the day. If you wish to see the portable shrine procession up close, we recommend checking the parade route in advance and securing a viewing spot early.

Etiquette and Manners

As this is a sacred Shinto ritual, please watch the procession with respect. Avoid standing in positions that obstruct the path or performing any actions that may hinder the movement of the procession.

Recommended Stay

You can enjoy the festival atmosphere throughout the day, from the departure to the return of the shrine. An ideal way to spend the day is to arrive in the morning to witness the rituals, wait for the procession through the streets in the afternoon, and watch until the return in the evening.
