Shingu Ajisai no Sato is a beautiful natural park located in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture, famous for its approximately 20,000 blooming hydrangeas (ajisai). The sight of colorful flowers densely blooming across the vast mountain slopes is truly spectacular, making it a signature spot for celebrating the arrival of early summer. The area becomes particularly lively during the "Shingu Ajisai Matsuri" (Shingu Hydrangea Festival) held from mid-to-late June.
The greatest highlight of this location is the ability to view the "carpet of hydrangeas" from above using a monorail. Beyond the scenery, you can also enjoy seasonal gourmet treats made with local ingredients, such as "Ajisai-mi Dango" (hydrangea-themed dumplings) and "Sansai Udon" (wild vegetable udon), allowing you to experience the season with all five senses.

The best season is from mid-June to late June, coinciding with the Shingu Ajisai Matsuri. We recommend visiting in the relatively cool morning hours or during the afternoon when the light is soft and golden. While hydrangeas often look even more vivid in the rain, please note that the monorail service may be canceled due to inclement weather. As there is no nighttime lighting in this area, we recommend avoiding visits after dusk.
