Dogo Park is a scenic urban park located in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, centered around the historic Yuzuki Castle ruins. The landscape was shaped by the construction of Yuzuki Castle by Kono Michimori during the Kenmu era. Today, visitors can walk among well-preserved earthen walls and outer moats, offering a tangible connection to the past. The park is also a renowned cherry blossom viewing spot, featuring specimen trees designated by the Matsuyama Local Meteorological Observatory, making it a breathtaking destination in the spring.
The history of this site is deeply rooted in medieval Japanese castle architecture. In 1886, the area was established as the Dogo Botanical Garden before being developed into the current Prefectural Dogo Park. The site holds significant historical weight, with records of Emperors Taisho and Showa visiting the area to plant pine trees. In 2002, restoration work on the Yuzuki Castle ruins was completed, and the site was designated as a National Historic Site. Furthermore, it was selected as one of the "100 Famous Japanese Castles" in 2006, cementing its status as a vital landmark of Japanese history.

The proximity to the Dogo Onsen area allows travelers to easily combine a visit to the park with a relaxing hot spring experience and sightseeing at the Shiki Memorial Museum.
