Iwate Prefectural Goshoko Wide Area Park, located in Shizukuishi-cho, Iwate Prefecture, is a sprawling green park surrounding Lake Gosho. The view of the majestic Mt. Iwate is truly spectacular! Enjoy the changing seasons, with cherry blossoms painting the lakeshore pink in spring, and autumn leaves transforming the mountains into a breathtaking display of red and yellow. The park offers a variety of facilities, including children's playgrounds and athletic courses, and walking paths for adults. The vehicle plaza is especially popular, featuring swan boats, cycle trains, and unique bicycles – fun for both kids and adults! For families with young children, Family Land, with its fountains and splash pools, is highly recommended for water play. The Machiba District Park features a cooking facility perfect for barbecues, ideal for enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. The spacious lawn is perfect for picnics and ball games. Seasonal flowers bloom throughout the park, with the Oniryuno Wetland Botanical Garden boasting approximately 25,000 irises in full bloom from late May to early June. In late July, water lilies bloom, creating a magical atmosphere in the two ponds with white and red water lilies.
