35km from Kumamoto Interchange via National Route 57. Take the Aso Mountain Bus from Aso Station on the JR Kyushu Hohi Main Line and get off at "Kusasenri Aso Volcano Museum-mae". From Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, Kumamoto Station, or Kumamoto Airport, take the Kyushu Sanko Bus bound for Aso Mountain Terminal and get off at "Kusasenri Aso Volcano Museum-mae". Note that there is only one bus per day on this route. Alternatively, from Kumamoto city, you can take the "Yamabiko-go" bound for Oita or the Kyushu Yokodan Bus and get off at "Aso-eki-mae", then transfer to the Aso Mountain Line. Show route
