Hachimandai is an observation spot located on a 180m-high plateau in Oga City, Akita Prefecture. From here, you can look down upon Togawa Bay, and the stunning crater lakes Ichinomegata and Ninomegata, iconic landscapes of the Oga Peninsula. Looking further, you can see the Japan Sea and Kanpuzan mountain, a symbol of the Oga Peninsula – a truly 360-degree panorama. The name Hachimandai (Eight View Point) is said to have been given by the late Prince Takamatsu, reflecting the magnificent vista. Sunset is particularly captivating, painting the sky with magical hues as the sun dips into the Japan Sea, enchanting numerous visitors. Hachimandai features a large wooden observation deck, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
