Reprun Fukushima is an interactive information center where you can learn about the landfill disposal of waste contaminated with radioactive materials (specific waste, etc.) generated by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident. Located in Tomioka-machi, Futaba-gun, Fukushima Prefecture, this facility, opened in April 2017, provides clear and informative exhibits on the outline of the specific waste landfill disposal project, safety measures, and progress.
In the exhibition hall, you can learn about the technologies used in landfill disposal, safety measures, and monitoring methods in a fun and engaging way through digital content. You can also participate in hands-on monitoring experiences at the adjacent monitoring field, including measuring spatial dose rates and conducting water quality surveys.
Reprun Fukushima aims to deepen visitors' understanding of radioactive waste disposal and enhance their sense of security. Many people visit from across Japan, making it a place to reflect on environmental issues.
Admission is free and reservations are not required. Opening hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is closed on Mondays and during the New Year's holiday period. However, if Monday is a public holiday, it will be closed the following day.
