By car: We recommend using the Urushikubo Tunnel parking lot. From National Route 403, you'll see the remnants of a disused railway crossing a short distance in. Right next to it is a dedicated parking lot with space for 6-7 cars. There are thin ropes to delineate parking spaces. Show route

Overview
The former Shinonoi Line is a walking path in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, developed from a disused section of the old Shinonoi Line. Stretching 6km, it retains remnants of the former railway, including tunnels and bridges.
One of the highlights is the Kozawa River Bridge, a brick structure built using the English bond method. Constructed in the Meiji era, this bridge speaks to the advanced engineering of the time. The Urushikubo Tunnel, approximately 200 meters long, also stands out with its dark and slightly eerie atmosphere.
The former Shinonoi Line offers a relaxing stroll through a rich natural environment, showcasing seasonal beauty. Enjoy cherry blossoms in spring, vibrant autumn leaves, and snowy landscapes in winter—beautiful scenery year-round.
Walking along the former railway line allows you to connect with history and enjoy a peaceful time surrounded by nature.
