Nijukukibitoge

Overview

Nijukukibitoge is a mountain pass located at an elevation of 1155 meters in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Reaching the top of the winding forest road reveals a breathtaking panoramic view of the majestic Mount Fuji. On a clear day, you can see not only Mount Fuji, but also the Southern Alps and the Yatsugatake mountain range. It's also a popular starting point for hikes to mountains like Mount Ishiwariyama and Mount Shakushiyama, making it perfect for hiking and trekking. The area surrounding the pass is covered with broadleaf forests of beech and Japanese oak trees, offering beautiful scenery throughout the year. In spring, the fresh green leaves are dazzling; in summer, the shade offers cool respite; in autumn, the leaves turn into a vibrant display of fall colors; and in winter, a magical snowscape unfolds.
