Overview

Otaki Keikoku Valley is a naturally beautiful valley located in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, situated along the Niogawa River, a tributary of the Hagawa River. The Niogawa River originates from Horakuyama and Rokushoyama mountains, gently flowing through the foothills and farmland. Upon reaching the scenic spot known as "Kumiyama," the river plunges down a 148-meter drop over a 1.8km stretch before reaching the main Hagawa River, creating a spectacular, rushing torrent. This forceful current has sculpted various large rocks and unique stones, resulting in the stunning scenery of Otaki Keikoku Valley. Considered one of the prefecture's most scenic spots and nicknamed the "Shossenkyo of Tokai" (referencing a famous valley in Yamanashi Prefecture), Otaki Keikoku Valley is ideal for hiking and barbecues.
