Terayama Ikoino Hiroba is a nature-filled park in Satsuma-Sendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Located on a hilltop 247 meters above sea level, its expansive grounds offer a full day of fun with an observation deck, Space Museum, go-kart course, animal area, sports field, flower garden, and a children's nature house. The majestic Kawauchi River flows below, and the Koshikijima Islands in the East China Sea are visible in the distance. The park is also famous for its approximately 400 cherry trees. In spring, the park is awash in pink with a stunning display of cherry blossoms. From the observation deck, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Satsuma-Sendai City and the distant mountains. On a clear day, you can even see distant islands. The Space Museum offers a planetarium and astronomical observation, sparking children's curiosity. The planetarium recreates the beauty of the night sky, allowing visitors to learn about constellations and the mysteries of the universe. Astronomical observation allows you to observe stars and planets using actual telescopes. At the go-kart course, enjoy a refreshing drive through a 1.3km forest. Go-karts are available for single and double riders, perfect for families and friends. In the animal area, you can interact with ponies and rabbits. You can ride ponies or feed the rabbits. Children can enjoy interacting with the animals. The flower garden offers a vibrant display of seasonal flowers. Spring showcases tulips, pansies, and violas in a riot of color; summer brings sunflowers and salvias; and autumn features cosmos and dahlias.
