Takinomiya Park

Overview

Takinomiya Park, spanning 41.70 hectares, is a beloved community space centered around Mount Kaneko, part of a hilly area in western Nihama City. Approximately 1,500 cherry trees grace the park, with various kinds including Someiyoshino, Yōkō, and Yamazakura blooming in a vibrant display in spring. The park buzzes with cherry blossom viewers during this season, transforming into a breathtaking pink landscape. Autumn paints the mountainside in shades of red and yellow, offering a completely different, equally captivating view. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls amidst the beautiful autumn foliage. The park also features a Japanese garden with about 100 white plum trees and 10 red plum trees, their sweet fragrance filling the air in early spring. A breathtaking panoramic view of Nihama City unfolds from the observation deck atop Mount Kaneko. On a clear day, the view extends to the Seto Inland Sea and the Ishizuchi mountain range, showcasing distant mountains. Children and adults alike can enjoy the playground and animal enclosure. The playground offers various equipment such as slides and swings, while the animal enclosure houses animals including whooper swans, black-boned chickens, and rabbits, providing interactive opportunities for children.
