The Bandai-san Gold Line is a 17.6km scenic drive running from Bandai-machi to Kitashobara-mura in Yama-gun, Fukushima Prefecture. This popular drive winds along the western side of Mount Bandai, offering spectacular views of the majestic natural landscape. Several viewpoints along the route provide stunning vistas of Mount Bandai and Lake Inawashiro, with picturesque scenery at every stop. The "Golden Plain" (Koganedaira) offers an up-close view of Mount Bandai's explosive crater, while the "San-ko-dai" viewpoint provides panoramic views of Lake Inawashiro. These are highly recommended stops. Part of the route also runs through the Alts Bandai Ski Resort, offering winter opportunities for skiing and snowboarding.
