Overview

Senbonmatsu Farm is a leading tourist farm in northern Kanto, located in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture. Established in 1902 by Masayoshi Matsukata, it pioneered a Western-style farm management approach, incorporating large-scale machinery. Post-war, it transitioned to dairy farming and began serving Jingisukan (Genghis Khan) cuisine in 1964. The extension of the Tohoku Expressway in the 1980s, bringing it close to the Nasu-Shiobara Interchange, significantly increased its popularity. Today, it offers a diverse range of experiential activities such as animal interactions, horseback riding, and hot air balloon rides, attracting 800,000 to 900,000 visitors annually. The expansive grounds feature an animal contact area with cows, sheep, and other animals, as well as restaurants and souvenir shops, providing a full day of enjoyment. Senbonmatsu Farm is a family-friendly tourist spot where you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Nasu highlands. Be sure to visit! Access is easy, just about 2 minutes from the Nasu-Shiobara Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. By train, take the Tohoku Shinkansen from JR Tokyo Station to Nasushiobara Station, then a taxi for about 20 minutes.
