Kameike Park

Overview

Kameike Park, located in Hainan City, Wakayama Prefecture, is centered around Kameike Pond, one of Wakayama's largest irrigation reservoirs. It boasts many attractions, including the historically significant Soseikaku villa, associated with the Kishu Tokugawa clan, and a thrilling, swaying suspension bridge. A 4km-long walking path winds through the park, perfect for a leisurely stroll amidst nature's beauty. The path offers scenic views of trees and flowers. The suspension bridge over the pond provides a thrilling experience—be careful not to drop your belongings while taking photos! In mid-April, vibrant tulip fields burst into bloom, adding a colorful spectacle to the park's already stunning scenery. The vast expanse of tulips in various colors is truly breathtaking. As part of the Iwai Highlands Prefectural Natural Park, Kameike Park also offers magnificent views of the surrounding highlands. The panoramic vista is simply spectacular! Kameike Park provides diverse recreational opportunities, from relaxing strolls and sightseeing to photography. It's an ideal destination for dates and sightseeing. Note: Kameike Park has two parking lots. The second parking lot is located in front of a school and is primarily used by school staff. The walking path has minimal guardrails, so please exercise caution with children. However, this also allows for an immersive experience in nature; you'll feel a connection to the natural world like few other parks offer. There are no trash cans, so please take your trash with you. Open fires are strictly prohibited.
