Hanano Michi's story began in the 1920s, when Ichizo Kobayashi, the founder of the Takarazuka Revue, envisioned adorning Takarazuka city with a cherry blossom-lined path. At the time, Takarazuka was an underdeveloped and desolate area. With a strong desire to cultivate culture and bring happiness to the people, Kobayashi planted the cherry trees. Nurtured carefully by local residents ever since, this cherry blossom avenue has become a beloved symbol of Takarazuka. In spring, approximately 400 cherry trees burst into bloom, creating a stunning pink tunnel. The area buzzes with visitors during the cherry blossom season. A stroll through this cherry blossom tunnel is a truly spectacular spring experience! It's also beautifully lit up at night, offering a different, magical atmosphere. The area surrounding Hanano Michi boasts many attractions, including the Takarazuka Revue theaters and the Takarazuka Grand Theater. Taking a walk along Hanano Michi after a Takarazuka Revue performance is highly recommended.
