Kyuka Park

Overview

Kyuka Park is a vast park in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, developed on the site of Kuwana Castle. The park preserves historical sites such as the remains of the castle's main keep (Honmaru) and second enclosure (Ninomaru), allowing visitors to stroll through history. Kyuka Park is also renowned as a flower haven, boasting a vibrant display of seasonal blooms, including cherry blossoms, azaleas, and irises. The spring cherry blossoms are particularly stunning, with approximately 450 trees of various types, including Somei Yoshino, weeping cherry, and mountain cherry, making it one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Mie Prefecture. Summer brings a dazzling array of around 550 azaleas, including Hirado azaleas and Oomurasaki azaleas, their vibrant colors a feast for the eyes. In early summer, approximately 4000 irises of various types, including Ise, Higo, and Edo varieties, create a breathtaking display of delicate beauty, captivating all who visit.
