Toyohashi Park is a lush green park located in the heart of Toyohashi City. Developed on the former site of Yoshida Castle, visitors can explore the castle's remaining stone walls, moats, and earthworks. The park also features the Toyohashi Museum of Art, a playground, tennis courts, and more, offering something for everyone from children to adults.
Yoshida Castle, built in 1531, was one of the representative castles of the Mikawa region. After the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, it was abandoned by Tokugawa Ieyasu. The castle ruins were later developed into the park we see today.
Known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, Toyohashi Park boasts approximately 300 cherry trees that bloom vibrantly in spring, painting the entire park in shades of pink. During cherry blossom season, many people visit for *hanami* (cherry blossom viewing), creating a lively atmosphere. Autumn brings beautiful autumn leaves, offering another stunning seasonal display.
