Kuroiso Park is a park located in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, famous for its cherry blossoms. In spring, approximately 100 cherry trees bloom, painting the park in a beautiful pink hue. The breathtaking row of Someiyoshino cherry trees is a particular highlight, attracting many visitors for hanami (cherry blossom viewing). During the cherry blossom season, the Kuroiso Sakura Festival is held, featuring stalls and various events, creating a lively atmosphere. The park also houses a colony of katakuri (dogtooth violet) flowers, which bloom at the same time as the cherry blossoms. These delicate pink flowers offer a different kind of beauty. From the Fureai Bridge connecting Kuroiso Park and Nakagawa Riverside Park, on a clear day, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Nasu mountain range and the Nakagawa River. This picturesque scene is so beautiful it's a popular spot for photography. In fiscal year 2013, the park's playground equipment was completely renovated, ensuring a safe and fun environment for children. With slides, swings, sandboxes, and more, children can play to their hearts' content. Kuroiso Park offers a variety of attractions, including cherry blossoms, katakuri flowers, stunning views of the Nasu mountains and Nakagawa River, and a great playground.
