Janohana: Village of Flowers and History is a garden created in the Meiji era by Ito Yae, a wealthy farmer from Motomiya. Its name comes from a legend that when Minamoto no Yoshiie fought in this area during the Earlier Nine Years' War, the arrows he shot looked like flowers. The vast grounds are filled with seasonal flowers, captivating visitors. The autumn foliage is particularly stunning, creating the illusion of visiting an ancient temple in Kyoto. Within the garden is the Ito Yae's villa, "Janohana Goten," where you can admire the architectural style and artwork of the time. Construction took 10 years, and the villa is luxuriously built with elaborately carved gables at the entrance and folding screen paintings by Kano school painters. There are also restaurants and shops in the garden where you can relax and enjoy your time. It's also a popular spot for pre-wedding photo shoots.
