Overview

Ikeda Castle Ruins Park in Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture, is a park developed on the site of the former castle of the Ikeda clan, a local lord who ruled the Ikeda area from the Muromachi to the Sengoku periods. Ikeda Castle is said to have been built by the Ikeda clan in the late Muromachi period. It later came under the control of Murashige Araki, a vassal of Oda Nobunaga. However, when Murashige Araki rebelled against Oda Nobunaga, Ikeda Castle fell and was subsequently abandoned. Today's Ikeda Castle Ruins Park is a lush green park developed on the former site of Ikeda Castle. The park features an observation deck, a pond, walking paths, and more, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of each season.
