Takamine Castle is a castle ruin located in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. This flat mountain castle sits atop Takamineyama mountain, at an elevation of 120 meters, overlooking Yamaguchi City. It is said to have been built in 1551 by Motonari Mori. Takamine Castle played a crucial role as a base for the Mori clan's conquest of western Japan. However, after the Battle of Sekigahara, the castle was abandoned. Today, the castle ruins have been developed into a park, serving as a relaxing spot for local citizens.
