The Fujimino City Fukuoka Riverbank Memorial Hall, located in Fujimino City, Saitama Prefecture, is a memorial hall built utilizing the former Fukudaya, a thriving shipping agency on the Shin-kashigawa River. Built in the late Edo period, the Fukudaya building retains much of its original architectural style and is designated as Saitama Prefecture's first Important Landscape Building.
Inside the hall, you can see exhibits of account books, tools, and daily necessities from that era, offering a glimpse into the lives of merchants at the time. A diorama depicting the riverbank and waterway transportation of the Shin-kashigawa River is also on display. These exhibits allow visitors to experience the bustling atmosphere of the riverbank and the lives of the merchants who worked there.
The memorial hall also regularly hosts special exhibitions and events, providing opportunities to learn more about history and culture.
