Rokko Cable

Overview

Rokko Cable is a historic cable car connecting Rokko Cable Shita Station and Rokko Sanjo Station in Nada-ku, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. Opened in 1932 (Showa 7), it ascends 1.7km with a height difference of 493.3m in just 10 minutes. The charm of Rokko Cable lies in its retro-style cars. One of the two connected cars is an open-air observation car, allowing you to fully enjoy the majestic scenery while breathing in the fresh mountain air. From Rokko Sanjo Station, you'll be treated to stunning views of Kobe's cityscape and Osaka Bay, and at night, you can gaze at the glittering Kobe night view. At Rokko Sanjo Station, you'll also find souvenir shops, restaurants, and cafes where you can relax and spend some time. Mount Rokko offers various other sightseeing spots, perfect for hiking and cycling. For example, there's Mount Rokko, the highest peak of the Rokko mountain range, and Tenrandai, located northeast of the highest peak. Rokko Cable serves as a base for exploring Mount Rokko.
