Overview

Higashi Honganji Temple, the head temple of the Otani School of Shin Buddhism, was rebuilt in 1591 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The Ohyodo Hall, the temple's centerpiece, is a breathtaking, world-class wooden structure with a 76-meter-wide front, showcasing magnificent scale.
