Overview

This museum displays the art collection of Ichizo Kobayashi, the founder of Hankyu Railway. Besides founding the railway company, Kobayashi was also known as a tea ceremony master, and his collection encompasses a wide range of items, including tea ceremony utensils, calligraphy, paintings, sculptures, and crafts. The museum building itself is a renovated version of Kobayashi's villa, "Gasyokusanso," adding to its historical charm. Inside, you'll find the "Sokushin-an" tea room, where you can experience a traditional tea ceremony. The well-maintained garden offers beautiful scenery throughout the year. Nearby, you can also visit the Kobayashi Ichizo Memorial Museum (a museum showcasing materials from the early days of Hankyu Railway) and the Ikeda City Museum of History and Folklore.
