INFO
Please note that the shrine grounds are not very large. Also, please understand that as a branch shrine of Abe no Oji Jinja, there may be instances where we are unable to accommodate certain requests.
Abe no Seimei Shrine, located in Abeno Ward, Osaka City, is dedicated to Abe no Seimei, a prominent Onmyoji of the Heian period. Tradition holds that Seimei was born here. The shrine grounds feature the remains of his birth well, a life-size statue of Abe no Seimei, and a statue depicting Kuzunoha the fox spirit's arrival. The remains of Seimei's birth well, in particular, are popular as a power spot, attracting many visitors. Next to the shrine is Abe Oji Shrine, which manages Abe no Seimei Shrine; visiting both is recommended. Abe Oji Shrine is said to have been founded by Emperor Nintoku and is one of the Ninety-nine Oji shrines, a branch shrine of Kumano Taisha. The grounds boast many attractions, including the Mikarasu-sha Shrine and Kuzunoha Inari Shrine. Both Abe no Seimei Shrine and Abe Oji Shrine are steeped in history and legend, offering visitors a mystical atmosphere. Abe no Seimei Shrine, in particular, draws many worshippers as a place connected to Abe no Seimei.
