Toyama Port Observation Deck

Overview

The Toyama Port Observation Deck is a free observation deck located in Higashiiwasemachi, Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture. Situated on the south side of Toyama Port, it provides panoramic views of the port and cityscape from a height of 20 meters. On a clear day, you'll be treated to the breathtaking beauty of the distant Tateyama mountain range and Toyama Bay. The observation deck's design is inspired by a 'jōyato' (a traditional permanent lantern), similar to one found at the Kotō Shrine in the same area. It's said this design was chosen to express wishes for the safety of ships and the prosperity of the port.
