The lakeside parking lot used to require access via a privately owned road belonging to a private company, which caused some trouble. However, it has now been donated to the city, so you can use it with peace of mind.

Overview
On September 1, 1923, the Great Kanto Earthquake struck. In the area around Shinseiko Lake, the earthquake caused a 200-meter-long landslide, damming the Ichiki River. This resulted in the creation of Shinseiko Lake. The cliff on the east side of the lake (the road leading down to the current lakeside parking lot) is considered the remnant of this landslide.
Shinseiko Lake has a well-maintained approximately 1km walking path, perfect for hiking. The path is covered with wood chips, making it easy to walk on, with minimal inclines and declines, making it suitable for families with children. Benches and gazebos are also available along the lakeshore for rest.
Shinseiko Lake is also popular for fishing, with carp, crucian carp, and black bass among the fish that can be caught. Designated fishing areas are located along the walking path for anglers.
Beautiful scenery unfolds throughout the year, with daffodils and cherry blossoms in spring, and vibrant autumn leaves in the fall. The autumn foliage, especially, is stunning, with the colors reflected beautifully on the lake's surface, attracting many visitors.
Shinseiko Lake, born from the historical Great Kanto Earthquake, allows visitors to experience the powerful force of nature. It is also a relaxing space surrounded by beautiful scenery and abundant nature. We encourage you to visit.
