Utoro Onsen is a hot spring located in Utoro, Shari-cho, Shari-gun, Hokkaido. It is also known as Shiretoko Onsen.
Located on the western coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula on the Okhotsk Sea, the hot spring town is divided into two areas: the Utoro fishing port side and a higher-altitude area.
The hot spring town has various accommodations, including hotels and minshuku (traditional Japanese inns), and serves as the gateway to Shiretoko National Park, attracting many tourists.
On the high ground, there is a public bath called "Yuhi-dai no Yu," offering an open-air bath with a panoramic view of the Okhotsk Sea. Adjacent to it is the Shiretoko National Campground, and within its grounds is the Yuhi-dai Observatory, counted as one of the "Eight Views of Shiretoko."
There's also an Ashiyu (footbath) called "Ashiyu Shirietoku".
On the Utoro fishing port side, you'll find Godzilla Rock and a hand-bath called "Godzilla no Te Yu".
