Gassan Ski Resort is located at the foot of Mount Ubagatake (1,700m elevation) in Nishikawa-machi, Yamagata Prefecture. Famous for its summer skiing, it operates from spring to summer. Slopes are categorized by skill level, including the Ubazawa-goya-mae Slope, Ubagatake Slope, the Grand Slope, and the Ushikubi Slope. The summit also features the Ubagatake Rest Area with restaurants and shops. There is ample parking for 500 vehicles. Beyond summer skiing, Gassan Ski Resort is also surrounded by tourist attractions such as the Gassan Shizu Onsen hot springs.
