INFO
Parking is free every day (1,000 spaces on the Kayaba slope side, 200 spaces on the Alpenblick slope side). A complimentary shuttle bus from Myoko Kogen Station is also available. Restaurants can get crowded on weekends and holidays, and the system for some facilities might be a bit confusing. As this is an older facility, don't expect modern toilet amenities. The road from the interchange to the ski resort has few steep slopes, making it easily accessible even for 2WD vehicles equipped with studless tires. There are limited lift ticket counters, so you might experience a wait in the mornings, but payment by card or e-money is accepted. Hotel Alpenblick, adjacent to the slopes, may be fully booked for school trips from mid-January to February. The local beer factory restaurant 'Tatra-kan' has limited public operating days and requires reservations. The adjacent day-trip hot spring facility 'Alpenblick Spa' is open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM during the ski resort's operating season, with no closing days.
Nestled in Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, Ikenotaira Onsen Alpen Blick Ski Resort is a historic ski destination established in 1927, forming the core of the ALPEN BLICK Resort. Leveraging the vast natural terrain at the base of Mt. Myoko, the resort offers 15 diverse courses, catering to all skill levels from beginner to expert. A standout feature is the Kayaba Slope, boasting an impressive maximum width of 400 meters.
The resort is especially welcoming for families with young children and first-time skiers/snowboarders, thanks to its abundance of gentle slopes. The longest run stretches for 3km, offering a satisfying and exhilarating experience. Imagine cruising down, surrounded by stunning views of Lake Nojiri – a truly refreshing experience.
While once renowned for one of Japan's largest and highest-quality parks, it has since relocated to become the 'Alpen Blick Park,' continuing to thrill snowboarders with a wide array of features. Newly established tree run courses also make it a paradise for advanced skiers seeking untouched powder.
Accessibility is a major highlight, with the resort located just about 4 minutes from the Myoko Kogen Interchange on the Joshinetsu Expressway. A convenient free shuttle bus service also makes arrival by public transportation a breeze. The resort experience extends beyond the slopes, with the adjacent Hotel Alpen Blick and the 'Alpen Blick Spa' day-trip hot spring facility, ensuring your après-ski is as enjoyable as your time on the mountain. Though some facilities may be older, the exceptional hospitality, including the attentive and courteous staff, explains why so many guests return year after year. The resort continues to evolve, having changed its name to 'Ikenotaira Onsen Alpen Blick Ski Resort' for the 2021-2022 season.
