Ontake Ski Resort is a historic ski resort that opened in 1961 as the National Ontake Ski Area. At 2240m above sea level, it boasts one of the highest altitudes in the country, offering excellent snow quality and long runs. In the past, the gondola lift "Skylab" was installed, attracting many skiers, but it is currently out of service. In recent years, Cisi Co., Ltd. has become the designated administrator, and Ontake Ski Resort has made a new start. The slopes have a variety of courses including off-piste, a pole-only run, a sledding course, and a snow park. You can choose a course that suits your level, from the longest 7000m course to the expert course with a maximum slope of 35 degrees. The resort also has restaurants and the Mikasa-no-Yu bathing facility where you can relax after skiing. Although it was affected by the eruption of Mount Ontake at one time, it has now been restored and is once again bustling as a ski resort loved by many skiers.
