Geto Kogen Ski Resort, nestled in Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture, has been renowned as one of Tohoku's premier heavy snow resorts since its opening in 1993. It boasts 14 courses, masterfully designed to utilize the rich natural terrain of Usagimori Mountain. With a maximum slope of 36 degrees and a longest run of 2,980m, it offers plenty of thrilling descents. Particularly noteworthy is its exquisite powder snow, praised for having a "world-class powder reset rate." For the freshest powder of the day, "First Track," which starts 10 minutes before gondola operation, is an absolute must-try.
Synonymous with Geto is its "overwhelmingly vast tree run area." Spanning nine unique areas, these runs utilize the natural terrain as-is, offering unparalleled thrills and exhilaration that you won't find anywhere else. Areas range from "Level 1" for beginners to challenging zones for super advanced skiers, and guided tours are available for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Furthermore, the "Geto Kogen Onsen" (hot spring), directly connected to the slopes, offers breathtaking panoramic views from its grand open-air bath, thoroughly rejuvenating tired bodies. Accommodation facilities like "Skiers' Bed" are also available, offering unlimited hot spring access for exceptional value. A kids' park and daycare are fully equipped, ensuring families can enjoy their time with complete peace of mind.
Moreover, the food court's slope-side meals are reputed to be "delicious no matter what you try," with a wide range of gourmet options including Ise-ebi Ramen (lobster ramen) and Katsu Curry. Why not indulge in the ultimate winter sports experience at Geto Kogen Ski Resort, "the Holy Land of Powder," which delivers high satisfaction in every aspect: snow quality, course variety, facilities, hot springs, and dining?
