Restrictions apply to the use of sliding equipment other than skis and snowboards. With over 2,000 seats, our restaurants boast one of the largest capacities among ski resorts in Sapporo. The resort offers a full range of facilities, including rental shops, a daycare center, ski and snowboard schools, and retail shops.
Sapporo Teine Ski Resort, operated by Kamori Kanko, is an expansive leisure facility nestled in Teine Ward, Sapporo. Utilizing the majestic slopes of Mount Teine, its summit at 1,023 meters (approximately 3,356 feet) offers a magnificent 360-degree panorama, encompassing the Ishikari Plain, Sapporo cityscape, Ishikari Bay, Mashike Mountains, and even the distant Daisetsuzan mountain range. Its greatest appeal lies in its historic significance: it was the venue for Asia's first Winter Olympics in 1972. Alpine skiing, bobsleigh, and luge events were held here, and the iconic Olympic torch stand remains in the Olympia Zone to this day. Skiing on this historic stage is a special experience unlike any other ski resort.
The slopes are divided into the "Highland Zone" and the "Olympia Zone," featuring a total of 15 courses designed to satisfy skiers and snowboarders from beginners to experts. Notably, the "Women's Giant Slalom Course" and "Men's & Women's Slalom Course" are FIS-certified courses used in the Olympics, presenting challenging runs for advanced skiers. Connecting the "Natural Course" and "Rainbow Course" creates a thrilling downhill run of approximately 6 km (about 3.7 miles), allowing even beginners to enjoy an extended cruising experience from the summit.
The snow quality is consistently exceptional; even when temperatures in Sapporo city rise above freezing, visitors can still enjoy superb powder snow, as attested by numerous reviews. In recent years, efforts have been made to enhance user convenience, including the introduction of IC lift tickets and web discounts for online purchases. Furthermore, the resort boasts "Teine Olympia Ski School," Hokkaido's first SAJ-certified school, and "Yuichiro Miura & Snow Dolphins Ski & Snowboard School Sapporo," an SIA-certified institution, offering high-quality lessons for all skill levels. Outside of the ski season, a golf course is also open, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of Mount Teine year-round. For an unparalleled winter experience in Hokkaido, combining history, stunning views, and exquisite snow quality, Sapporo Teine is an excellent choice.
