The Sino-Japanese Peace Memorial Hall, located in Hikoshima, Shimonoseki City, is a reconstruction of the Shunpanro, where the signing ceremony of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Shimonoseki took place. The Sino-Japanese War, which broke out in 1894 (Meiji 27), was a war between Japan and Qing China. Japan emerged victorious, and the peace treaty was signed in Shimonoseki in 1895 (Meiji 28).
