The temple grounds are open 24 hours a day. The sutra copying area is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and prayer/offering services are available from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Koushouji Temple is a temple of the Shingon sect, Chizan school, located in Showa-ku, Nagoya. It's considered one of the oldest temples in Aichi Prefecture, said to have been founded in the early Heian period. Legend claims it was established by Kobo Daishi (Kukai) in this area, once known as "Yagotoyama." Despite suffering several fires throughout its history, it has been repeatedly rebuilt. The current main hall, reconstructed in the 17th century, is designated as an Important Cultural Property. Its magnificent architecture, adorned with stunning carvings and decorations, is truly awe-inspiring. The temple also boasts several beautiful gardens. "Fumon-en," located south of the main hall, is particularly renowned for its breathtaking seasonal blooms. From cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, vibrant autumn foliage, and snowy landscapes in winter, the garden offers a captivating spectacle year-round. Koushouji Temple is an ideal place to escape the urban hustle and find tranquility. Beyond its historical buildings, the temple hosts various cultural events. For instance, the "Spring Cherry Blossom Festival" in April draws large crowds, and the "Autumn Foliage Illumination" during the fall showcases the magical beauty of illuminated autumn leaves.
