Kotayama Park

Overview

Kotayama Park is located on the summit of 124m-high Kotayama in Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu City. From the park, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Wakato Bridge, a symbol of Kitakyushu, and the Yawata Steel Works, a powerhouse in Japan's steel industry. The industrial complex is beautifully illuminated at night, creating a magical nightscape that makes this a popular spot for viewing city lights. During the day, you can relax and stroll while enjoying the views of the Wakato Bridge and the industrial area. The park also boasts seasonal flowers, including cherry blossoms in spring and hydrangeas in early summer. From the observation deck, you can even see the Kanmon Strait and Yamaguchi Prefecture in the distance, offering a truly expansive and liberating view. Kotayama Park is conveniently located just about 15 minutes by car from downtown Kitakyushu. With ample parking available, it's easily accessible by car.
