Uttonai Lake is a freshwater lake located in eastern Tomakomai City, Hokkaido. Registered as a Ramsar Convention wetland, Uttonai Lake is famous as a crucial migratory bird stopover. Over 250 bird species have been recorded here. Autumn and winter bring spectacular displays of migrating birds, such as bean geese and swans, offering breathtaking natural scenery. The lakeside features Michinoeki Uttonai Lake (a roadside station), the Uttonai Lake Wild Bird Protection Center (Ministry of the Environment), and the Uttonai Lake Sanctuary Nature Center, providing opportunities for interaction with nature and learning.
