Shoin Shrine

Overview

Shoin Shrine is dedicated to Yoshida Shoin, a leading intellectual of the late Edo period, and was established by figures such as Hirobumi Ito. Shokasonjuku, a private school founded by Shoin himself, produced many notable students including Takasugi Shinsaku and Ito Hirobumi.
