Access: Take the Onomichi bus (inner city line, eastbound) from JR Onomichi Station and get off at Saikokuji bus stop. It's a 5-minute walk from there. From the Onomichi IC on the Sanyo Expressway, it's about a 20-minute drive southeast. Show route

Overview

Saikoku-ji Temple is the head temple of the Shingon sect's Daigo school and has long been known as "the number one temple in the western provinces." Upon reaching the top of the 108 stone steps, visitors are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Onomichi Strait.
