Overview

The Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum is a meticulously restored building that originally served as the headquarters of Mitsubishi Company, Ltd., completed in 1894 (Meiji 27). At the time, it was an exceptionally large structure, symbolizing the development of Marunouchi. Though later demolished due to World War II and post-war redevelopment, Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. initiated its restoration in the early 2000s, resulting in the museum we see today. The museum primarily showcases 19th-century modern art through a variety of rotating exhibitions. Visitors can appreciate historical masterpieces, including Impressionist paintings and sculptures.
