Overview

The Kaikyokan Aquarium, located in the Karato district of Shimonoseki, is operated by the city of Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi Prefecture. It recreates the rich natural environment of the Seto Inland Sea and the Sea of Japan, showcasing over 10,000 specimens of approximately 500 species, offering a full day of fascinating discoveries. In "Hibiki no Umi," one of the world's largest tanks, you'll be captivated by whale sharks exceeding 10 meters in length and gracefully swimming manta rays.
