Kuju Flower Park opened in 1993 and has been cherished as a flower-themed park that takes advantage of the rich nature of the Kuju Highlands. At its peak, it attracted as many as 600,000 visitors annually, but subsequently fell into financial difficulties and restarted under a new management system in 2009.
Currently, in addition to the traditional tulip digging and lavender picking, the park has increased hands-on events such as blueberry picking and mini-concerts, and has attracted tenants selling natural foods, focusing on interaction with nature and communication with visitors.
The park also features the Miyama Kirishima azaleas and hydrangeas that grow naturally in the area, as well as opportunities to observe butterflies such as the Chestnut Tiger and wild birds. It is a charming tourist spot where you can fully enjoy the nature of the Kuju Highlands.
