Futaiji Temple

Overview

Futaiji Temple, located in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, is a Hossō sect temple and an ancient temple often mentioned alongside Todai-ji Temple. Established during the Heian period, it boasts a National Treasure Golden Hall and Five-Story Pagoda, as well as numerous important cultural properties, including many Buddhist statues. The Golden Hall houses precious Buddhist statues, including the principal image of Yakushi Nyorai (the Healing Buddha), the Four Heavenly Kings, and the Twelve Heavenly Generals.
