Ishi清水八幡宮 Shrine, located in Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture, is the head shrine of approximately 40,000八幡 shrines nationwide. Perched atop Mount Otokoyama, it's nestled in lush greenery and has been a focal point of faith for centuries. Its founding is attributed to 859, when, at the behest of Emperor Kanmu, a branch of the sacred spirits from Kamo Shrine in Kyoto was enshrined here.
